The UAE, which shares borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman, has emerged as a major hub for trade and growth on the Arabian Peninsula. To the west and north, respectively, it shares marine waters with Qatar and Iran. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm al Quwain are the seven states that make up the UAE. The nation is strategically located for seaborne container movement and trade because it sits on the northern side of the Strait of Hormuz.
Between Singapore and Rotterdam, Jebel Ali, one of the major ports in UAE, is also the world’s largest manmade harbor. As the entry point between the Western Hemisphere and the Far East, this port provides the global shipping sector with access to a market of 1.5 billion people. With state-of-the-art facilities to serve both regional and international shipping demands in and around the Arabian Sea, this port is one of the best and most modern in the region.
There are 67 berths in the port, and it is expected that it will be able to accommodate 50 million TEUs by 2030. Despite being constructed to support Port Rashid’s expanding needs, the Jebel Ali port, which is currently the ninth busiest port in the world, has exceeded everyone’s predictions for its potential.
In Abu Dhabi, Mina Zayed Port is frequently simply called Zayed Port. It is situated in the northeastern part of Abu Dhabi, which serves as the UAE’s financial, communications, and transportation hub in addition to being the country’s capital. This is also the largest port in the UAE with great transportation.
The man-made port can accommodate 900,000 tons of cargo per year and has 21 berths. However, the port also houses a number of fishing vessels that leave the port every day in addition to handling shipping cargo. The fishing vessels are dhows, which are traditional wooden boats. Out of the 510 hectares the port occupies, 41 hectares are devoted to container terminals that can hold 15,000 TEU. To make Zayed Port more of a tourist destination, they moved the majority of their container and Ro-Ro traffic to Khalifa Port.Â
There are two basins in the port: one for cruise ships and another for other types of cargo. Usually, a popular and reliable logistics company in UAE uses the infrastructure and services provided by ports to move goods between nations, making ports an essential component of the global logistics chain.
Another manmade port in the Emirate of Dubai, which is located on the southern shore of the vast Arabian Gulf, is Mina Rashid Port, one of the major ports in UAE. Despite handling a large amount of cargo, this port is perfect for passenger operations because it is located in the center of the city.
The IMS (International Maritime Security) has awarded this port the security certificate of excellence in addition to the esteemed ISO-9002 accreditation. Port Rashid has gained international recognition in the cruise travel sector as the only port in the Middle East to have this accreditation and certification.Â
Seven of the biggest cruise ships, each carrying 25,000 passengers, may be accommodated at once at the 2 million-square-meter Mina Rashid Cruise Terminal. The port has been chosen as the Middle East’s World’s Leading Cruise Port for seven consecutive years by the World Travel Awards due to its expertise and capacity. This largest port in the UAE is popular for its efficient transportation.
This port, which is situated in the center of Sharjah, is also referred to as the Khalid port. The port was the first in the area to feature a roll-on/roll-off freight terminal, a free trade terminal, and a container terminal. It set the precedent for what other ports, like Jebel Ali and Zayed Port, have since emulated and expanded on.
There are twelve berths in the port of Mina Khalid, which are used for bulk, dry, liquid, reefer, and general cargo handling. In addition to having two cold stores on the dock, it has oil and offshore support. The port is now engaged in a number of significant construction projects that will further improve its facilities. These include building the new berth in the breakwater reclamation area and the dhow wharfage facilities.
The Mina Khalid port and this port are both in Sharjah and are managed by the same team. Unlike the other deep-water ports in the area, which are all man-made, this one is natural. This port gets a lot of business from the Indian Ocean front and is one of the major ports in UAE. This port is the natural choice for the East and West’s high transshipment volumes that are headed for the UAE hinterland because it is outside the dangerous Strait of Hormuz.
Together with Megamax Tandem lift cranes and six of the biggest modern lift cranes, known as Super Post Panamax gantries, the port of Khow Fakkhan offers 450,000 square meters of storage capacity. This port can handle over 1,000 reefer containers at once and has access to the open sea. This largest port in the UAE is a part of great transportation. This port is also a vital part of the global logistics network since they are typically used by reputable and well-known logistics company in UAE to transport goods between countries.
